This mausoleum of white marble was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in the memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Located 40 Kilometres from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1869 in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesied the birth of three sons to the heirless Emperor. Akbar used Fatehpur Sikri as his capital for 14 years but the city was later abandoned primarily because of scarcity of water.

If you wish to cancel a booked tour, excursion or activity, please ensure that you terminate your booking at least 72 hours before the scheduled date to receive a refund. Any cancellations made less than 72 hours before the scheduled date are non-refundable.
