The Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan as the mausoleum for his favourite queen Mumtaz Mahal. Constructed entirely out of white marble, it is an architectural masterpiece with four minarets, beautiful inlay work and marble screens.

Often described as a teardrop on the cheek of time, it is also one of the most famous historical landmarks of India and reflects the grandeur and wealth of the Mughal empire. In the morning, the magnificence of the building is enhanced by the soft light which makes it a memorable sight!
You then visit the Agra Fort, a magnificent treasure of Mughal architecture, built of red sandstone and white marble. Inside Agra Fort, view the remarkable palaces, decorative chambers and hospitable reception rooms. Be awed by the beauty of the fort’s marvelous mosques, including Pearl Mosque (Moti Masjid), Diwan-e-Khas, Diwan-e-Aam and Sheesh Mahal.
Located 40 Kilometres from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1869 in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesied the birth of three sons to the heirless Emperor. Fatehpur Sikri is built in red sandstone, and is a beautiful blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural elements. Akbar used Fatehpur Sikri as his capital for 14 years but the city was later abandoned primarily because of scarcity of water.
